SRE/DevOps Engineer – Cloud & Kubernetes

About the role

We are seeking an SRE/DevOps Engineer to ensure the reliability, availability and performance of large‑scale cloud and hybrid systems for a Canadian partner. The role is the first line of response for incidents across Kubernetes, APIs, databases and cloud‑native services, combining hands‑on troubleshooting with structured operational processes.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor system health across cloud and on‑premise environments using dashboards, logs and alerting tools.
• Perform first‑line incident triage, execute runbooks and escalate when necessary.
• Troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues in Kubernetes, APIs, databases and cloud services to identify root causes.
• Communicate incident status clearly to stakeholders and document outcomes.
• Support deployment operations and routine tasks following defined procedures.
• Document incidents, improve runbooks and contribute to operational knowledge bases.
• Assist onboarding of new applications into monitoring and support frameworks.
• Collaborate with engineering and L2/L3 teams for escalation and resolution of complex problems.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of experience in IT operations, NOC, SRE or DevOps roles.
• Strong understanding of Linux, basic Kubernetes concepts and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk or ELK.
• Ability to follow structured operational workflows and incident management procedures.
• Basic scripting skills in Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) is a plus.
• Effective communication skills for incident reporting.
