About the role
Alcon is seeking a senior leader to build and scale Commercial Excellence capabilities for its Surgical business in Canada. Reporting to commercial leadership, you will guide a team that transforms market and sales data into actionable insights, supporting optimal sales execution and growth.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the primary Commercial Excellence liaison for the Canada Surgical organization, connecting local commercial leadership with the broader Americas Operations team.
- Manage and synthesize market data—including sales figures, competitive intelligence, segmentation, and scenario planning—to identify opportunities and threats for assigned brands.
- Generate ad‑hoc commercial analyses such as segmentation, targeting, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to define key metrics and deliver insights that drive business objectives.
- Produce monthly commercial reports and weekly performance dashboards, ensuring data accuracy and timely delivery.
- Maintain and evolve standard reporting tools and scorecards, acting as a liaison with technology partners to resolve data issues.
- Lead the development and governance of territory sales quotas and sales‑force incentive programs, overseeing budget control and payout accuracy.
- Drive adoption and optimization of systems and processes across the commercial function.
Required profile
- Entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset with extensive experience in the medical‑device industry.
- Proven track record as a people manager who inspires high performance.
- Strong analytical background with a passion for data‑driven decision making.
- Ability to work autonomously and shape a function from the ground up.
