Specialized Laborer

About the role

Join Pomerleau Construction’s Civil and Infrastructure team as a Specialized Laborer. You will work on large‑scale building and infrastructure projects, supporting crews to ensure smooth site operations and high‑quality execution.

Key responsibilities

• Assist specialized crews with site work, concrete pours, and material handling.
• Supply the worksite, level and clear areas, and load/unload various materials.
• Support sewer and water main installation teams.
• Operate hand tools such as shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, screwdrivers, drills, jackhammers, and compactors.
• When trained and certified, operate motorized equipment like forklifts and aerial work platforms.
• Follow safety procedures and comply with company and industry standards.
• Maintain small tools and site equipment in good condition.
• Collaborate with teammates and other trades to foster a safe, productive environment.

Required profile

• Valid CCQ occupancy card.
• 2015 ASP Construction & WHMIS certification.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar construction labor role.

Required skills

• Operation of hand tools (shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, screwdrivers, drills, jackhammers, compactor).
• Forklift operation.
• Aerial work platform operation.
• Concrete pour assistance.
• Sewer and water main installation support.
