About the role

We are seeking a Linux Infrastructure Specialist to join an agile research team in Québec. This is a 26‑week fixed‑term contract with a hybrid work model (one day per week on site). The specialist will support a high‑performance computing platform, ensuring reliable, secure, and automated Linux services for the community.

Key responsibilities

Maintain and harden Linux servers (RHEL, Rocky, Oracle, Amazon, CoreOS).
Automate infrastructure using Ansible, AWX and AWS CDK.
Implement monitoring and performance tracking with Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus and Cacti.
Manage server provisioning tools such as Foreman and Satellite, and automate deployments via PXE and Kickstart.
Handle log aggregation with Elasticsearch, Kibana and Fluentd.
Support container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift) and related tooling (Docker, Podman, kubeadm, kOps, kubectl, kustomize).
Administer load‑balancing solutions (BigIP, HAproxy) and messaging systems (Kafka).
Assist with HPC components (Slurm, FreeIPA, Ceph RGW/S3, CephFS) and the Jupyter ecosystem.
Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines using GitFlow, GitHub Actions, and scripting in Bash, Python and Typescript.

Required profile

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Linux infrastructure specialist.
Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and server hardening practices.
Experience with automation, monitoring, logging, and container orchestration tools.
Ability to perform operational tasks and provide adequate customer service.
Familiarity with basic networking concepts (routing, DHCP, DNS).
