About the role
The Flying Pig is seeking a motivated Sous Chef to join its Vancouver kitchen team. In this role you will support daily operations, analyse costs, introduce new cooking techniques and equipment, and help train kitchen staff.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze operating costs and related data to improve efficiency.
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to the cooking staff.
- Prepare and cook food for regular service and special guests or functions.
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed.
- Arrange equipment purchases and coordinate repairs.
- Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and safe handling practices.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- 1 to less than 2 years of relevant kitchen experience.
