Service Technician – Agricultural Equipment

About the role

Join a leading John Deere dealer in Southern Alberta as a Service Technician. You will keep farm machinery running at peak performance, providing on‑site support to local growers and working alongside a skilled shop team.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of agricultural equipment using cutting‑edge tools and John Deere software.
• Travel to farms across the region to perform field service, routine maintenance, and emergency repairs.
• Conduct regular inspections to prevent downtime during critical planting and harvest periods.
• Collaborate with teammates to solve complex technical issues and share best practices.
• Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.

Required profile

• Journeyperson Certificate – Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) or Agricultural Equipment Technician (AET).
• Minimum 4 years of experience repairing agricultural equipment.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to work independently.
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lb and stand for long periods.
• Valid driver’s licence for travel to service calls.

Required skills

• Proficiency with diesel engines.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Understanding of electrical systems.
• Experience using computer‑based diagnostic tools and John Deere software.
