Senior Specialist, Tax & Fund Reporting

About the role

As a Senior Specialist in Tax & Fund Reporting at Aviso, you will lead the taxation strategy for a portfolio of mutual funds. Reporting to the Manager of Fund Reporting & Administration, you will ensure compliance with Canadian and international tax regulations while supporting fund launches, mergers, and other events.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee fund distributions, T3 factors, tax returns, foreign tax filings, PFIC reporting, withholding tax reclaims, corporate actions, EIFEL and HST compliance.
• Provide tax support for fund events such as mergers, rebalancings, and new fund launches.
• Analyze alternative tax strategies, optimize tax efficiency and present recommendations to senior executives.
• Monitor new tax regulations (Canadian and international) and coordinate their implementation.
• Prepare tax disclosures for regulatory documents, including prospectuses and management information circulars.
• Assist the Fund Reporting team with financial statements, MRFPs and QPDs.
