About the role

PointClickCare is seeking a senior software engineer to design, develop and maintain big-data solutions using Java and modern distributed technologies. The role involves collaborating with product teams, automating workflows, and ensuring high-performance, scalable code.

Key responsibilities

Identify, prioritize and execute tasks across the software development life-cycle.
Develop clean, efficient Java and Python code for big-data processing.
Automate tasks with scripting and build CI/CD pipelines.
Analyze, debug and test systems using test-driven development.
Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to improve products.
Maintain software with the latest technologies and work with distributed systems such as Apache Hudi and Trino.

Required profile

BSc/BA in Computer Science or related field.
Proven experience as a senior engineer delivering large-scale data solutions.
Self-starter with strong organization and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and mentor others.

Required skills

Apache Hudi, Spark, Kafka, Flink, Beam, Trino, Databricks.
Distributed storage: ADLS, HDFS, S3, DLT.
Programming languages: Java, Python.
Relational databases: Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL.
RESTful API development, Test-Driven Development, GIT.
Monitoring tools: New Relic, DataDog.
Container and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, Istio.
CI/CD: Jenkins, Ansible.
Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure.
Security protocols: SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect.
