Senior Satellite Systems Engineer – Payload Responsible

About the role

The position focuses on the interfaces and interactions between the payload and the satellite platform at system level, covering design, assembly‑integration‑test (AI&T) and in‑orbit operations. The engineer will coordinate daily with payload, C&DH, OBDH, satellite operations, flight software (FSW) and fault detection, isolation, and recovery (FDIR) teams, and will be responsible for all interface control documents (ICDs).

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mechanical and electrical Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for payload‑platform interactions.
• Coordinate payload‑related satellite tests during AI&T phases.
• Collaborate with C&DH, OBDH, satellite operations, FSW and FDIR teams to ensure seamless system integration.
• Support in‑orbit payload operations and troubleshoot interface issues.

Required profile

• 7+ years of systems engineering experience on telecom satellites, preferably with digital payloads.
• Hands‑on experience in phases B, C, D and E of space programs.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Montreal at least 50% of the time.
• Strong coordination and interpersonal abilities.
