Senior Project Manager – Project Delivery

About the role

Waterfront Toronto is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Project Delivery to lead design and construction initiatives across its waterfront precincts. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality project design, documentation, and construction while adhering to safety, regulatory, and sustainability standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day design activities to meet Waterfront Toronto’s objectives for Design Excellence, Quality of Place, and Sustainability.
• Support procurement of consultants and contractors, applying lessons learned from previous efforts.
• Administer contracts and agreements with vendors, providing continuous progress reporting via Waterfront Toronto dashboards.
• Manage production of project deliverables, including design drawings, construction documents, and compliance with standards and environmental approvals.
• Coordinate with regulatory authorities (e.g., Toronto Building Department, City Water, Toronto Hydro, Enbridge, Ministry of the Environment, Transport Canada) to secure necessary approvals.
• Review project meeting minutes, schedules, and reports; monitor action items and ensure timely completion.
• Develop project budgets for senior leadership approval.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing design and construction projects in a public‑sector or large‑scale development environment.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory processes and approval requirements for infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to administer contracts and oversee vendor performance.
