Senior Environmental Technical Advisor

About the role

H3M Environmental is looking for a Senior Environmental Technical Advisor to provide advanced technical leadership on complex assessment, remediation, and reclamation projects across Western Canada. The role involves guiding projects from early planning through to regulatory closure while mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior‑level technical oversight for environmental assessments, remediation, and reclamation programs.
• Review and interpret environmental data to develop defensible closure strategies.
• Lead the preparation of regulator‑ready remediation, reclamation, and closure submissions.
• Interface directly with regulators to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and support approvals.
• Act as the technical point of contact for key clients, contributing to scopes, proposals, and work capture activities.
• Mentor junior and intermediate staff and ensure technical work meets best‑practice standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Agrology, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years progressive experience in environmental consulting or industry, preferably within upstream, midstream, or downstream oil and gas, municipal infrastructure, or related sectors.
• Strong regulatory judgement and hands‑on consulting experience.
