Senior Electrochemical Stack Engineer

About the role

Ayrton Energy’s mission is to propel the global shift towards sustainable energy with cutting‑edge hydrogen storage technology. The Senior Electrochemical Stack Engineer will drive development and innovation of electrochemical stacks for LOHC, ensuring performance, reliability and cost‑effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop electrochemical stacks for LOHC, optimizing performance, reliability and cost.
• Create and validate designs and specifications for cell and stack components.
• Perform detailed cell performance modeling and system trade‑offs.
• Utilize CFD and FEA to analyze and improve electrochemical reactor designs for durability.
• Develop and implement component tests and inspection criteria to ensure product quality.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality assurance, and R&D teams.
• Support LOHC stack IP protection through strategic patent filing and management.
• Work with leadership to define project goals, budgets and timelines.

Required profile

• Minimum undergraduate degree in Materials, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience designing and developing fuel‑cell or electrochemical stacks for commercial applications.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and ability to translate complex issues into simple solutions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards for electrolyzers or fuel cells.
