Senior Analyst/Associate, Transactions & Total Portfolio Risk

About the role

British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) is seeking a Senior Analyst/Associate to join its Transactions and Total Portfolio Risk team. Reporting to the Principal, you will support risk assessment for private credit, infrastructure and renewable resources, providing analysis that informs Investment Committee decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent risk assessments of private market investments prior to Investment Committee review.
• Analyze transaction‑level data and integrate findings into total portfolio risk models.
• Develop and maintain AI‑driven risk frameworks that scale analytical coverage across private market asset classes.
• Prepare clear, investment‑ready reports and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Fixed Income & Credit Investments Risk Management and Private Markets Risk Management teams.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in investment risk, credit analysis, or private‑markets investment analysis.
• Strong understanding of credit structures, covenant packages and downside scenario evaluation.
• Ability to work independently on complex analytical assignments and exercise sound judgment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SQL and Python for risk data analysis.
