Security Analyst – Remote (Contract)

About the role

Mercor is seeking a Security Analyst to join its remote team on a contract basis. You will focus on identifying and classifying security vulnerabilities in AI‑generated content, applying deep systems‑programming knowledge to improve threat detection.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and review AI‑related content for security flaws, emphasizing pattern recognition and classification.
• Apply systems‑programming expertise to enhance AI model threat detection and reasoning.
• Collaborate asynchronously with a distributed group of cybersecurity experts.
• Design, solve, and review challenging, real‑world security problems.
• Work independently with flexible hours to meet project milestones.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional programming experience in C, C++ or Java.
• Familiarity with vulnerability classification frameworks such as OWASP or CVEs.
• Solid understanding of core cybersecurity concepts, web security and common attack vectors.
• Strong attention to detail and pattern‑recognition abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Based in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, or New Zealand.
• Ability to pass an enhanced background check.
