Residential Designer – Architecture & Urban Projects

About the role

NORR is seeking a Residential Designer to join its multidisciplinary team focused on multi‑family, townhome, and senior‑living projects. You will develop design solutions that align with context, budget, and aesthetic goals while supporting smart‑city and carbon‑reduction initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and analyze project requirements from reports and published documents.
• Develop architectural designs that meet quality, timeline, and budget parameters.
• Coordinate design intent with engineering, MEP, and structural disciplines.
• Integrate site surveys, field reviews, and code requirements into design deliverables.
• Prepare design reports, drawings, and 3D models following office standards.
• Conduct site visits to verify construction compliance and resolve deviations.
• Review shop drawings and project documents for code adherence and corporate quality control.

Required profile

• 7‑10 years of professional experience in architectural project work.
• Post‑secondary education in architecture or a related field.
• Experience with residential projects is an asset.
• Registration with a relevant professional architectural association is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in SketchUp.
• Proficiency in Photoshop.
• Familiarity with MEP systems.
• Familiarity with structural building systems.
• Knowledge of building codes and jurisdictional requirements.
