About the role
Empire Life is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Assistant to provide administrative support to its Corporate Compliance team. This hybrid position works across Canada and involves handling regulatory filings, database administration, and coordination with legal and corporate secretary functions.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the regulatory compliance management database, processing updates and role changes.
- Facilitate the quarterly compliance attestation cycle, ensuring timely certification by business units.
- Administer the enterprise‑wide policy acknowledgement and compliance training program, tracking completion in the learning management system.
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings to OSFI, FINTRAC, and other bodies, meeting strict deadlines.
- Maintain the registry of corporate representation on industry regulatory committees.
- Provide administrative assistance to Legal, Compliance, and Corporate Secretary teams, including invoice processing, access requests, reimbursements, supply ordering, and meeting coordination.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
- Ability to handle confidential information with tact and diplomacy.
- Self‑starter who can work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent organizational and scheduling skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
- Familiarity with learning management systems and regulatory filing processes.
