Registered Nurse – Full‑time Night Shift (12‑hr)

About the role

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join its Ottawa long‑term care facility on a full‑time basis. The position works 12‑hour night shifts (6 pm‑6 am) and plays a vital part in delivering high‑quality care to senior residents.

Key responsibilities

• Provide resident care in accordance with nursing standards, physicians’ orders, and facility policies.
• Observe, record, and report vital signs, symptoms, and changes in condition.
• Assist in resident assessments, develop and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Monitor health status, refer to physicians when needed, and implement orders.
• Plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate nursing and personal care staff on the unit.
• Orient and train new personnel; conduct performance appraisals.
• Prepare the facility for RAI‑MDS reporting and assume charge in the Director of Care’s absence.

Required profile

• Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
• Current First Aid and BLS certification.
• Experience working with cognitively impaired seniors preferred.
• Strong knowledge of infection‑control practices and long‑term care standards.
