Quality Assurance Data Controller (Steel Products)

About the role

Surespan Structures is looking for a Quality Assurance Data Controller to support steel fabrication projects across Canada. Based in Duncan, BC, you will help ensure that materials and products meet the highest standards while gaining hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced construction environment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify steel materials, confirming dimensions, quantities, and specifications.
• Assist with welding‑procedure training and keep certifications current.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Operations to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
• Oversee mill certificates, task completion, quality document control, and development of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
• Produce quality reports for client submission and manage quality hold‑points.
• Maintain proactive communication with all stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Build and maintain relationships with project managers, production teams, consultants, and suppliers.

Required profile

• Experience or knowledge of structural steel, heavy civil or bridge projects (fabrication experience preferred).
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and project controls.
• Background in quality control or quality assurance.
• Must reside in Canada and be eligible to work there.
