Probationary Full-Time Grades 1-9 Generalist Teacher

About the role

The Palliser School Division is seeking a motivated educator to join Shadow Ranch Colony School as a Probationary Full‑Time Generalist Teacher for Grades 1‑9. This position supports an inclusive, equitable learning environment for students in a Hutterite colony north of Lethbridge, Alberta.

Key responsibilities

• Establish clear learning objectives aligned with Alberta Education curriculum and communicate them to students.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom setups for each class.
• Deliver instruction using a variety of approaches appropriate for grade level and student needs.
• Plan and conduct balanced activities that include instruction, demonstration, and hands‑on work.
• Assign, collect, and grade homework, projects, tests, and other assessments.
• Observe and evaluate student performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records.
• Enforce classroom rules and safety procedures under the guidance of the Principal.

Required profile

• Provincially certified teacher qualified to teach Grades 1‑9.
• Commitment to the division’s values of empathy, integrity, respect, trust, and responsibility.
• Willingness to work in a Hutterite colony setting and support an inclusive, diverse community.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a dynamic, collaborative culture.
