President and Chief Executive Officer

About the role

The National Airlines Council of Canada (NACC) is seeking a visionary President and Chief Executive Officer to lead its advocacy, knowledge, and strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Board of Directors and managing a small dedicated team, the CEO will enhance NACC’s national profile and influence public policy for Canada’s aviation sector.

Key responsibilities

• Strengthen NACC’s advocacy efforts and raise its political visibility.
• Provide knowledge leadership to member airlines and guide strategic direction.
• Monitor, engage in, and influence public policy discussions affecting safety, security, environment, labour, and competition.
• Act as the primary spokesperson, managing stakeholder relationships and government relations.
• Oversee administrative functions and ensure effective governance with the Board.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in government relations, advocacy, or industry association management.
• Strong track record of building and managing stakeholder networks.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to navigate political and regulatory environments.
• Bilingual (English/French) and able to work near the Ottawa office.
