Payload System Verification & Validation Engineer

About the role

We are looking for qualified Payload System Verification and Validation Engineers to join our advanced satellite payload development team. This role focuses on system‑level engineering of next‑generation digital communications payloads, with a strong emphasis on requirements verification through test.

Key responsibilities

• Define, analyze, and validate system and subsystem requirements for digital telecommunications payloads.
• Develop and execute verification plans, including test strategies, procedures, and result analysis.
• Lead or support system‑level payload test campaigns at equipment and spacecraft levels.
• Interface with hardware and software teams to ensure correct implementation and traceability of requirements.
• Participate in technical reviews, anomaly investigation, and resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years experience in telecommunications systems, especially digital payloads.
• Strong expertise in requirements verification by test and test plan development.
• Solid understanding of SDR‑based processors and Direct Radiating Array beamforming.
• Eligibility to work in Canada and ability to obtain security clearance.

Required skills

• Vector Network Analyzer and Spectrum Analyzer for RF testing.
• Baseband signal generators, channel emulators, and BER testers.
• Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW for test automation and data analysis.
• SCPI, VISA, or similar interfaces for instrument control.
• FPGA‑based systems and embedded software architectures.
• Requirements management tools such as DOORS, Windchill, or Jama.
