Manager of Asset Management

About the role

Implement and update the City’s strategic asset management policy, oversee preparation of strategic asset management plans covering all municipal assets, and lead the development and maintenance of a comprehensive asset management plan.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and update the City’s strategic asset management policy.
• Oversee preparation of strategic asset management plans covering all municipal assets.
• Define current and future infrastructure rehabilitation and replacement needs using condition ratings, risk assessments and life‑cycle analysis.
• Manage studies, evaluations and projections of future municipal infrastructure requirements to maintain required service levels.
• Develop one‑, five‑ and ten‑year plans and budget forecasts for asset preservation and rehabilitation.
• Supervise the GIS Coordinator and ensure integration of geographic data into asset management processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education in Civil Engineering, Business, Finance or a related discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in a municipal environment or comparable role.
• Proven project‑management skills and thorough knowledge of municipal operations and capital infrastructure planning.
• Familiarity with municipal asset management software and relevant regulations (O. Reg 588/17, ISO 55000‑02, ISO 31000).
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Office applications.
