Licensed Practical Nurse – Acute Care/ER in Wabasca, Alberta

About the role

Join a dedicated interprofessional health‑care team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the vibrant northern community of Wabasca. You will deliver safe, high‑quality, patient‑ and family‑centred care in an acute care/ER setting while embracing the local Indigenous culture and history.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care using established nursing processes and clinical judgment.
• Apply critical thinking, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills to assess and respond to patient needs.
• Follow applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and other health‑care professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Participate in orientation, training and mentorship programs.

Required profile

• Successful completion of a Licensed Practical Nurse program.
• Registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta.
• Respect for Indigenous culture, history and health practices.
• Willingness to work varied shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Ability to relocate to a remote community and adapt to its lifestyle.
