Letter Carrier – Delivery Agent and Postal Clerk

About the role

Canada Post is seeking on‑call Delivery Agents (Letter Carriers) and Postal Clerks for temporary relief work in Saint‑Jean‑sur‑Richelieu, Quebec. You will either deliver mail and parcels to customers on foot or by vehicle, or work inside a sorting facility handling incoming and outgoing items. The position offers flexible shifts, including evenings, overnights and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Sort and prepare daily mail and parcels at the depot.
• Load, drive and operate a Canada Post vehicle for deliveries.
• Deliver mail and packages to residential and business addresses on foot or by vehicle.
• Return to depot to unload incoming items for later distribution.
• In the sorting facility, sort, scan, batch and dispatch mail and parcels.
• Operate material‑handling equipment and complete required documentation.
• Work various shifts, potentially evenings, nights and weekends.

Profile sought

• Valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with at least three years of safe driving record.
• Physical ability to lift up to 22.7 kg and carry up to 15.9 kg repeatedly.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions and be on‑call.
• Fluency in English and/or French (reading, writing, speaking).
• Customer‑service orientation and reliability.

Required skills

• Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Class G driver’s licence.

• Mail sorting and handling.
