Junior Construction Supervisor

About the role

The Junior Construction Supervisor supports the planning and execution of road construction projects under the mentorship of senior superintendents. You will help maximise profit, ensure site safety and maintain high customer satisfaction while gaining hands‑on experience on active worksites.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior superintendents in pre‑construction meetings, reviewing contracts, field conditions and resource requirements.
• Support the development and execution of project schedules, managing manpower, equipment, materials and subcontractors.
• Implement traffic protection plans and enforce on‑site safety requirements during job start‑up.
• Prepare and submit daily inspection reports, time‑sheets, material receipts and equipment packing slips.
• Maintain a daily journal of resources used, critical events and site conditions.
• Monitor daily quantities, flag potential budget overruns and assist in measuring completed work for accurate compensation.
• Participate in site meetings with clients and senior staff to resolve conflicts and communicate plans.

Required profile

• Previous experience in road construction.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work days, nights and weekends as project demands.
• Strong desire to learn from senior leadership and a commitment to safety.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with clients and field crews.
• Valid Ontario G‑class driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with basic digital tools (tablet or smartphone) for submitting daily reports.
