JPO Logistics Officer – Western & Central Africa

About the role

The World Food Programme is seeking a Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Logistics Officer to support supply‑chain operations across Western and Central Africa. Based in Dakar, Senegal, the officer will work under the Regional Head of Logistics for a two‑year assignment, contributing to the planning and execution of humanitarian logistics in a complex, evolving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist country offices in the design, planning and implementation of supply‑chain activities.
• Monitor and review logistics networks, ensuring timely delivery of food and relief items.
• Support the coordination of critical supply lines to emergency zones, including the Sudan response via Nigeria, Cameroon and Chad.
• Provide analytical support for logistics performance, risk assessment and contingency planning.
• Collaborate with regional partners and stakeholders to address access and transport challenges.

Required profile

• Young professional with a degree related to logistics, supply‑chain management, or a comparable field.
• Willingness to work in a multicultural, high‑pressure humanitarian setting.
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing operational contexts.
