Intern – U.S. Corporate Tax (Jan 2027)

About the role

Join MNP’s Cross Border Individual Tax team as an intern and support the delivery of U.S. and Canadian personal tax services. You will work on real client engagements, gaining exposure to cross‑border tax compliance and planning while developing professional skills in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in personal tax engagements for U.S. citizens in Canada, U.S. residents working in Canada, and Canadians investing in the U.S.
• Assist with cross‑border income tax and estate planning projects.
• Prepare U.S. and Canadian individual tax returns under supervision.
• Research tax treaty provisions and their impact on employment income, capital gains, dividends, and business profits.
• Collaborate with client engagement teams and build relationships with client contacts.
• Contribute ideas to improve work processes and use MNP internal systems.
• Maintain flexibility to travel when required.

Required profile

• Working toward a bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major preferred).
• Progressing toward prerequisites for the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
• Previous tax or accounting office experience is an asset.
• Customer service or client service experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with accounting and tax software is advantageous.
