Hybrid Linux System Administrator – Montreal

About the role

Join a Level 3 support team for an international bank in Montreal. As a Linux System Administrator you will help keep the Linux environment secure, efficient and stable while working in a hybrid setting.

Key responsibilities

• Improve tools and processes for managing Red Hat servers.
• Collaborate with development teams to define technical architectures that meet security and standards requirements.
• Manage incidents, problems and updates for the systems under your team’s responsibility.
• Develop automated processes for storage, backup and data‑collection tasks, using Python and related APIs.
• Implement and continuously improve a solution for collecting local account data from Linux and Windows machines.
• Patch and update OS templates for virtualised and physical environments, maintaining operational and security baselines.
• Support frontline analysis of production incidents and participate in on‑call rotations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, multicultural environment.
• In‑depth knowledge of Linux system administration, especially Red Hat Enterprise.
• Experience with scripting and automation to streamline operations.
