Human Resources Coordinator – Recruitment & Onboarding

About the role

Join Black & McDonald’s growing HR team as a Human Resources Coordinator focused on recruitment and onboarding for trades employees in Alberta. You will play a key part in delivering a smooth, positive employee experience while supporting a range of HR functions across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Own full‑cycle recruitment for trades roles, from job description creation to interview coordination and reference checks.
• Manage high‑volume onboarding, including drug/alcohol testing, orientations, training enrollment, and documentation.
• Plan and attend career fairs, applying creative sourcing techniques to attract diverse talent.
• Coordinate benefits and pension enrollment for new hires and address related inquiries.
• Support front‑line supervisors on employee‑relations matters and escalate complex issues to the HR Partner.
• Administer the regional rewards and recognition program and assist with performance reviews and engagement surveys.
• Facilitate off‑boarding processes and prepare HR documentation such as payroll forms and employment letters.
