Health & Safety Coordinator

About the role

The Health & Safety Coordinator supports Cachet’s construction sites by fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Reporting to the Director of Construction, the role combines day‑to‑day site safety management with broader program development.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regular site inspections to identify hazards, verify compliance, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain and install safety rails and other required safety equipment.
• Document inspections, incidents, and corrective actions; track and organize all safety records.
• Assist in developing, updating, and delivering health and safety policies, procedures, and training materials.
• Participate in incident investigations, conduct root‑cause analysis, and support corrective action planning.
• Prepare reports, trend analyses, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Deliver toolbox talks, orientations, and safety training sessions.
• Chair Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) and site safety meetings as needed.
• Collaborate with superintendents, inspectors, trade partners, and internal teams to ensure safety requirements are met.
• Support WSIB documentation, modified duties coordination, and return‑to‑work processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years of construction health and safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario provincial health and safety legislation.
• Proven ability to conduct site inspections and manage safety documentation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Experience leading JHSC meetings and delivering safety training.
