Health Care Aide – Part‑Time Night Shift

About the role

The Health Care Aide (HCA) joins a multidisciplinary team to provide personal assistance and support services to patients in short‑term or ongoing care settings. Working in Wetaskiwin Hospital & Care Centre, the HCA collaborates with nurses, families, and caregivers across home, community, and facility environments.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living such as hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation and safety.
• Support nurses in delivering routine care and follow the patient care plan.
• Organise and participate in patient activities or programs.
• Observe, document and report on patients’ mood, health status and overall wellbeing.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
• Facilitate effective communication between patients, families and health‑care professionals.

Required profile

• Active or eligible registration with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA) as a Health Care Aide.
• Proof of education or completion of a Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire.
• Ability to work under the supervision of a regulated health professional.
