Geotechnical Engineer – Project Management

About the role

CIMA+ is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to lead and manage complex geotechnical projects for its Montreal office. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of geotechnical, geological, and environmental specialists, contributing to the design, rehabilitation, and construction of a wide range of infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and supervise complete geotechnical studies, including soundings, drillings, laboratory testing, and design recommendations.
• Inspect, assess safety, and upgrade earth dams and related hydraulic structures.
• Coordinate field work, engineering studies, and relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare technical documents, bids for public or inter‑departmental tenders, and detailed plans/specifications for earthworks, slope stabilization, and bank protection.
• Supervise, train, and mentor junior engineers, CPIs, and trainees while fostering team development.

Required profile

• University degree in civil or geological engineering with a specialization in geotechnics.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
• Additional experience or a Master’s degree in hydrogeology is a plus.
