About the role
West Fraser is recruiting a General Labourer for its Quesnel Sawmill in British Columbia. The role involves supporting sawmill operations through material handling, equipment operation, and routine maintenance while adhering to strict safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Sort, stack, and pile lumber in various areas of the sawmill.
- Handle and lift materials as required.
- Operate assigned production equipment.
- Assist other processing workers with daily tasks.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of sawmill equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Carry out repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
- Follow company safety standards, including lock‑out procedures and pre‑task hazard assessments.
Required profile
- Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Availability for day and night shifts as needed.
- Good physical condition and capacity to perform repetitive tasks.
- Team‑oriented attitude with reliable work ethic.
- Commitment to follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
- Desire to learn, grow and succeed.
- No prior experience required.
