General Foreman – Civil Engineering & Infrastructure

About the role

Pomerleau is seeking an experienced General Foreman to lead site work on large‑scale civil engineering and infrastructure projects across Canada. You will coordinate crews, ensure safety, and drive productivity on projects ranging from $1.5 million to over a billion dollars.

Key responsibilities

• Provide constant leadership in health and safety, lead safety breaks and attend coordination meetings with the OHS team.
• Supervise, organize and manage workers and subcontractors to optimise performance and quality.
• Plan and coordinate the work of subcontractors, specialties and trades in collaboration with the superintendent.
• Ensure tools, materials and equipment are available to meet schedule and specification requirements.
• Prepare and manage technical and administrative documents such as daily work reports and timesheets.
• Read and apply plans and specifications for the assigned specialty.
• Monitor environmental compliance and enforce rigorous quality standards.
• Promote teamwork, positive leadership and a pleasant working climate.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in civil engineering, including at least 2 years as a road foreman.
• Valid CCQ card.
• Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Strong ability to read plans and specifications and manage priorities.
