Front Desk Clerk

About the role

The Front Desk Clerk is the first point of contact for guests at our Toronto hotel, responsible for delivering smooth check‑in and check‑out experiences. You will handle payments, answer guest inquiries, and coordinate with housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready.

Key responsibilities

• Process guest check‑ins, assign rooms, and issue room keys.
• Handle all payment types, including cash, checks, debit and credit cards.
• Manage check‑outs, resolve late or disputed charges.
• Answer and record guest calls, messages, requests, and concerns.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping on room readiness.
• Provide parking information and dispatch bell or valet staff as needed.
• Supply guests with directions and local area information.
• Run daily arrival/departure reports and verify accuracy.
• Complete cashier and closing reports, cash personal and traveler's checks, and balance the bank at shift start and end.
• Follow safety, security, and company policies, maintain professional appearance, and protect confidential information.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and lift objects up to 10 lb.

What we offer

• Hourly wage between $30.50 and $32.50 CAD.
