About the role
This permanent position provides front‑counter and administrative support for the School of Nursing’s Administration Services and Student Services offices. The role serves as the first point of contact for visitors, students, faculty and staff, ensuring smooth daily operations and a welcoming environment.
Key responsibilities
- Greet visitors, answer telephone calls and redirect inquiries appropriately.
- Provide real‑time operational and technical assistance during classes, including troubleshooting AV and videoconferencing issues.
- Support computer‑based examinations by handling login problems, supplying laptops and liaising with IT administrators.
- Coordinate classroom scheduling with Enrolment Services and maintain accurate records.
- Manage minor and emergency building repairs, submit maintenance requests and follow up with UBC Facilities.
- Perform routine office administration tasks such as filing, data entry and handling correspondence.
Required profile
- Thorough knowledge of university office routines, policies and departmental functions.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with faculty, students, contractors and external vendors.
- Ability to interpret policies and provide guidance on administrative matters.
- Attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
