Fleet & Assets Manager – Ottawa

About the role

The Fleet & Assets Manager will lead the planning, procurement, maintenance and financial oversight of Transdev Ontario’s vehicle fleet and related facilities in Ottawa. Reporting to the Director, Fleet & Assets, you will ensure optimal use of assets throughout their lifecycle while managing a team of licensed mechanics and administrative staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assess vehicle replacement needs and negotiate parts, tools and services with vendors.
• Maintain company vehicles to established standards, coordinate shop and external garage work, and manage insurance repairs.
• Collect, analyse and present fleet performance KPIs to senior management.
• Oversee inventory, cost‑centre budgets and actual results for fleet services.
• Lead a team of mechanics and support staff, ensuring compliance with health, safety and purchasing policies.

Required profile

• University or college education (or equivalent).
• 5‑7 years of experience in fleet or asset management, preferably in a supervisory role.
• 310T or combined 310S/310T licence preferred; valid Ontario G class licence with clean abstract.
• Strong analytical skills, computer literate in MS Office, and familiarity with the Health & Safety Act, National Safety Code and purchasing policies.
• Clean criminal record check.

Required skills

• MS Office proficiency.
• ODP certification (or willingness to obtain) with air‑conditioning experience.
• Light‑duty diesel and gasoline engine repair knowledge.
• Vendor negotiation and procurement.
• Fleet asset lifecycle management.
