Family Peer Support Worker – Hybrid (Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Mission)

About the role

Family Peer Support Workers are parents and caregivers of children or youth with mental health and/or substance use challenges. In this hybrid role you will support families in Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows and Mission by providing emotional support, information, education and navigation assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide emotional support to families and caregivers.
• Share information and resources relevant to mental health and substance use.
• Offer knowledge and education to help families understand challenges.
• Assist families in navigating community services.
• Build on parents' strengths and offer hope.
• Meet families in‑person, via video chat, phone or email.

Required profile

• Skilled at building relationships and making connections.
• Demonstrates compassion and care for others.
• Works well with community service providers.
• Comfortable promoting and presenting FamilySmart services at events.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Can work from a home office and attend weekly in‑person meetings across the three communities.
• Good working knowledge of Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs).
• Able to pass a criminal records check with a vulnerable sector search.
