Engineering Manager – Forward Deployed Engineering (Agentic Platform)

About the role

Cohere is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead its Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team for the Agentic Platform in North America. This fast‑paced, high‑growth role requires a technically sharp, hands‑on leader who can drive impact across finance, healthcare and telecommunications sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Forward Deployed Engineers building agentic solutions with the North platform in on‑premises environments.
• Own customer success from technical implementation through delivery.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering and Sales to shape AI delivery for enterprises.
• Build strong relationships with technical stakeholders on the customer side.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across the development process.
• Define and implement scalable processes for agent development and deployment across multiple client environments.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 2+ years of experience managing software engineering teams in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
• Hands‑on experience building and deploying enterprise software at scale, with a focus on agentic applications.
• High agency and a do‑er mentality – you act without waiting for permission.
• Excellent communication skills in English, able to translate technical concepts for both technical and business audiences.
