Emergency Medicine Physician – Williams Lake, BC

About the role

Join the collegial emergency medicine team at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake, BC. You will work in a 24/7 emergency department that sees roughly 22,000 patient visits each year, providing acute care to a diverse rural population.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage emergency presentations across all age groups.
• Perform a variety of procedures in a high‑volume setting.
• Collaborate with internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, general surgery, pediatrics and psychiatry specialists.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents through the UBC Faculty of Medicine’s rural teaching program.
• Participate in leadership development opportunities such as Interior Health’s NAVIG8 Emerging Physician Leaders Program.

Required profile

• Current licensure with a CCFP, CCFP (EM) or FRCPC in Emergency Medicine.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in British Columbia.
• Commitment to serving a rural community and willingness to engage in teaching.

Required skills

• Emergency medicine clinical expertise.
• Procedural competence in acute care settings.
