Emergency Medicine Physician – Kelowna General Hospital

About the role

Kelowna General Hospital is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine physician to join its vibrant, high‑volume Emergency Department. You will work in a state‑of‑the‑art facility that serves over 100,000 annual ED visits and offers a broad spectrum of acute care, from trauma to complex cardiac cases.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to a diverse patient population.
• Manage trauma resuscitations, cardiac emergencies, and other critical presentations.
• Collaborate closely with consultants, specialists, and nursing staff in a collegial environment.
• Participate in teaching activities for residents and medical students, including bedside teaching, simulation, and Grand Rounds.
• Contribute to departmental quality improvement and academic initiatives.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine (FRCPC or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in a busy emergency department, preferably with trauma and cardiac critical care exposure.
• Strong commitment to teamwork, mentorship, and continuous learning.
• Interest in academic medicine and resident education.

Required skills

• Advanced trauma resuscitation.
• Cardiac critical care techniques, including ECMO support.
• Point‑of‑care ultrasound proficiency.
