Director, Procurement & APEX Operations

About the role

The Director, Procurement & APEX Operations leads both the operational performance of APEX Fabrication & Supply Ltd. and the strategic procurement function for Classic Fire + Life Safety. Reporting to the COO, this senior leader ensures the delivery of high‑quality fire‑suppression assemblies while driving cost‑effective purchasing across the CFLS network.

Key responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight of fabrication, warehouse, logistics and delivery operations.
• Own production scheduling, capacity planning and throughput against branch demand.
• Manage the APEX P&L, annual budget, monthly variance reporting and capital approvals.
• Lead supplier relationship management, sourcing strategies, contract negotiations and inventory governance.
• Oversee QA/QC programs to ensure compliance with NFPA, ULC and customer specifications.
• Champion a zero‑incident safety culture, supervise JHSC activities and enforce health & safety policies.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.
• Strong background in strategic procurement and supplier management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage P&L, budgets and financial performance.
• Experience with continuous‑improvement initiatives and process optimisation.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Knowledge of NFPA standards.
• Knowledge of ULC standards.
