Director, Business Expansion & Transformation

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Director to lead Business Expansion & Transformation (BET) within its Business & Market Insights division. The role will shape the strategic direction for new growth opportunities, bridging current momentum with the company’s 2030 ambition.

Key responsibilities

• Own the health of BET’s long‑term investment theses and ensure alignment across portfolio initiatives.
• Lead rapid, 2–4 week due‑diligence sprints on discrete capability or program prospects, applying venture and private‑equity analysis techniques.
• Build and manage the opportunity pipeline from sourcing through evaluation, portfolio construction, and graduation to development.
• Coordinate cross‑functional product, technology, and go‑to‑market partners to advance initiatives from concept to scale.
• Stand up new business verticals and foundational capabilities that extend beyond existing product portfolios.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in corporate strategy, portfolio management, or venture/PE diligence.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret internal and external signals into investable opportunities.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing senior leaders and cross‑functional teams.
• Track record of delivering strategic initiatives in fast‑paced, data‑driven environments.
