Development Engineering Project Coordinator

About the role

The City of Vaughan is seeking a Development Engineering Project Coordinator to manage development and subdivision servicing agreements and ensure municipal infrastructure aligns with city standards and regulations. This position supports the delivery of safe, efficient, and compliant engineering solutions for new developments across the city.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate development and subdivision servicing agreements, compiling conditions from multiple departments and agencies.
• Review municipal engineering designs (water, sanitary, storm, roads, sidewalks, drainage, grading, street lighting) for compliance with City Engineering Standards and relevant regulations.
• Coordinate special projects, including drafting Terms of Reference, overseeing engineering studies, and conducting feasibility analyses.
• Assist in negotiating and executing subdivision and development agreements, ensuring service and infrastructure coordination with adjacent projects.
• Supervise and guide assigned technical staff throughout project phases.

Required profile

• Community College diploma in Civil Engineering Technology (3‑year program) or University degree in Civil Engineering, working toward P.Eng membership.
• Five years of municipal servicing engineering experience, including at least three years in development servicing, detailed design/modeling, and project management.
• Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or progressing toward Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation.
