Desktop Support Technician – Mining Operations

About the role

The Desktop Support Technician reports to the Supervisor, End User Computing and provides day‑to‑day site support in a mining and industrial environment. You will deliver Tier 1 and Tier 2 assistance for computer hardware, software and peripherals, while offering training and technical guidance to end users.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies.
• Provide on‑site and remote technical support for desktop computers, laptops, ruggedized devices, peripheral equipment and software.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain IT equipment across offices, operational areas, workshops and control rooms.
• Resolve incidents and service requests, documenting all activity in the IT ticketing system.
• Collaborate with vendor support, help desk, network operations and infrastructure teams to diagnose and resolve issues.

Required skills

• Experience supporting desktop computers.
• Experience with laptops and ruggedized devices.
• Knowledge of peripheral equipment (printers, scanners, etc.).
• Proficiency with an IT ticketing system for incident tracking.
