Design Engineering Associate Specialist

About the role

General Dynamics Land Systems is seeking a Design Engineering Associate Specialist to lead full‑life‑cycle mechanical design activities for vehicle subsystems. The role focuses on delivering innovative, mission‑critical solutions while ensuring compliance with customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Execute component and assembly level design tasks across assigned subsystems.
• Maintain regular communication with supervisors on progress and issues.
• Ensure all designs undergo peer review by technical leads or mentors.
• Support test planning, execution, and reporting under the guidance of test leads.
• Contribute to survivability analyses, including mine blast modeling and simulations.

Required profile

• Ability to independently overcome design challenges throughout the product life cycle.
• Accountability for design fit, form, and functionality while meeting team requirements.
• Strong technical communication skills to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Experience with LS‑Dyna for mine blast and kinetic threat simulations.

What we offer

• Base salary range $60,000 – $92,400 CAD per year, with progression based on performance.
