Cyber Security Analyst – Remote (Canada)

About the role

Auxo is seeking its first dedicated Cyber Security Analyst to lead the security function for a fast‑growing Series A B2B SaaS platform serving large manufacturers. Working remotely from Canada, you will partner closely with engineering to embed security into product development and protect enterprise‑grade operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the security posture of a live SaaS platform used by enterprise manufacturers.
• Monitor infrastructure, applications, and networks for threats and suspicious activity.
• Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and ongoing risk analysis.
• Implement and maintain security tooling across the stack, including endpoint protection, firewalls, and SIEM.
• Develop and enforce security policies, incident‑response procedures, and compliance frameworks.
• Lead incident response and post‑mortem analysis.
• Drive certification efforts such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001 to support sales cycles.
• Provide security training and awareness to the broader team.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or SOC environments.
• Previous experience as the sole security professional in a company.
• Strong communication skills, able to explain risk to non‑technical executives.
• Familiarity with Canadian privacy regulations such as PIPEDA.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, Security+) are a plus.

Required skills

• Cloud security on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Network security, IDS/IPS, and SIEM solutions.
• Penetration testing, vulnerability assessment and risk analysis.
• Programming/scripting in Python and Bash.
• Design of encryption, authentication and access‑control architectures.
• Endpoint protection and firewall technologies.
