Compositor – Short‑Term Contract (1‑2 months)

About the role

Framestore is seeking a skilled Compositor for a short‑term (1‑2 month) contract in Montreal. You will blend live‑action footage with computer‑generated elements to create high‑quality visual‑effects shots for feature films.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Compositing Supervisor and VFX Supervisor to define creative and technical approaches for assigned shots.
• Integrate 2D, 3D, and live‑action elements to meet high‑end visual‑effects standards.
• Follow briefs from Lead Compositors and adhere to production schedules and show deadlines.
• Maintain clear communication with production leads regarding timelines and feedback.
• Manage personal workload, time, and incorporate supervisor notes efficiently.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Nuke and hands‑on production experience.
• Familiarity with stereo compositing and handling multiple render passes.
• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Pro‑active, collaborative work ethic with a keen eye for detail, composition, color, and lighting.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and solve problems under deadline pressure.
