Commercial Counsel – Corporate & Commercial Law

About the role

Join TELUS Legal Services as a Commercial Counsel, providing strategic legal advice on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters. You will work from the Montreal or Toronto office in a hybrid model, supporting TELUS’s extensive private and public sector portfolio across Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Lead contract review, negotiation and execution for major commercial deals, including RFPs and enterprise agreements.
• Advise on complex partnerships, client relationships and strategic commercial initiatives.
• Provide guidance on marketing, privacy and confidentiality issues within commercial agreements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure optimal risk allocation and compliance management.
• Drive process improvements and leverage legal technology and AI to enhance practice efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience practicing commercial law.
• Member of one or more provincial law societies.
• Proven track record in complex deal structuring, negotiation and contract management.
• Strong business judgement, initiative and collaborative style.
• Ability to communicate practical legal advice to senior executives and diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• Expertise in commercial law and enterprise contracting.
• Experience managing high‑volume, time‑sensitive files.
• Knowledge of privacy and confidentiality matters in commercial agreements.
