Canada Impact+ Research Chair in Food and Water Security

About the role

The Canada Impact+ Research Chair in Food and Water Security is a tenure‑track faculty position at McGill University. The chairholder will lead a world‑class research program addressing critical challenges in food and water security, leveraging interdisciplinary approaches and partnerships across sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute an ambitious, transformative research agenda in food and water security.
• Build and lead an exceptional research team, including post‑doctoral fellows, graduate students, and technical staff.
• Collaborate with academic, industry, government, and community partners nationally and internationally.
• Translate research outcomes into applications, commercialization opportunities, and societal benefits.
• Secure additional research funding and manage the allocated Impact+ award.

Required profile

• Recent, distinguished record of research achievements in food, water, or related environmental fields.
• Currently residing and working outside Canada at the time of application.
• Eligibility for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor with promotion to Full Professor within two years.
• Commitment to start the position within 12 months of award acceptance.
